Rodrigo Seabra started season in OK Junior this weekend, April 1st and 3rd, in Kerpen, Germany, after having already taken his first step in the X30 Junior category, in the 4 races of the American SKUSA WinterTour championship in Miami, USA, last January and February. Well-known drivers such as Michael Schumacher, Mick Schumacher, Sainz Junior and Robert Kubica won their first races in the German DKM Kart Championship. The DKM championship has celebrated 60 years of existence and remains one of the best talent factories in motorsports. The OK Junior category is the most professional and competitive category in Europe where the best drivers between the ages of 11 and 15 compete. On one of the most technical tracks of this DKM championship, and under very difficult weather conditions that were felt all weekend, which changed between snow, rain, and sun, Rodrigo Seabra finished the qualifying sessions in tenth place. On Saturday, after a schedule delay due to the negative temperatures, Rodrigo finished the 1st heat in a fantastic P6 and the 2nd heat in P11, which allowed him to get a final classification in P7 for the two finals on Sunday. Rodrigo, the youngest driver of this international fiels, stood out in Final 1 after several fights on track with the front group, ending up in a fantastic P7 overall. In Final 2, after an excellent start, he suffered a touch in the third lap where he was in P5, finishing in P17. In the overall ranking, Rodrigo Seabra adds points and he is in 7th place in the overall classification and leading the DKM "Rookies" championship. The debut as rookie in the OKJ category did not intimidate Rodrigo and this will be the first weekend of a year full of races in the new modality where the goal is to get as far as possible - "I am very excited to compete in this OK Junior category because it is much faster than the X30 Junior. I know that physically it is much more exhausting and intense and that I will face very strong and older opponents, all of them keen to score points and win, but as always I will work hard and hope that the results come!" - said the young Portuguese driver, who turned only eleven years old last December.
The next stop will be the first race of the ADAC Kart Masters Championship - OKJ, on April 23rd and 24th, in Wackersdorf, Germany.

Rodrigo Seabra iniciou a sua época desportiva na Europa em OK Júnior este fim-de-semana de 1 e 3 de Abril, em Kerpen, na Alemanha, depois de ter dado o primeiro passo já na categoria X30 Júnior, nas 4 provas do campeonato Americano SKUSAWinterTour em Miami., nos Estados Unidos da América, nos meses de Janeiro e Fevereiro passados. Pilotos conhecidos como Michael Schumacher, Mick Schumacher, Sainz Junior e Robert Kubica, ganharam suas primeiras corridas no Campeonato Alemão de Kart DKM. O campeonato DKM comemorou 60 anos de existência e continua uma das melhores fábricas de talentos no automobilismo. A categoria OK Júnior é a categoria mais profissional e competitiva na Europa onde participam os melhores pilotos entre os 11 e os 15 anos de idade.
Num dos traçados mais técnicos deste campeonato e em condições climatéricas muito difíceis que se fizeram sentir todo o fim-de-semana que alternaram entre neve, chuva e sol, Rodrigo Seabra, terminou os treinos cronometrados no décimo lugar.
No dia de Sábado, após um atrado na entrada em pista devido às temperaturas negativas que se fizeram sentir, Rodrigo terminou o primeiro Heat num fantástico P6 e o segunto Heat em P11, o que juntamente com o tempo das melhores voltas, lhe permitiu obter assim uma classificação final em P7 para as duas finais de Domingo.
Rodrigo, o piloto mais novo deste pelotão internacional,destacou-se na Final 1 após várias lutas em pista com o grupo da frente, termnado num fantástico P7 à geral. Na final 2, após um excelente arranque, sofreu toque na terceira volta onde seguia em P5, terminando assim em P17. No ranking geral, Rodrigo Seabra soma pontos e encontra-se em 7º Lugar da classificação à geral e a liderar o campeonato "Rookies" do DKM.
O fim-de-semana como estreante na categoria OKJ não intimidaram Rodrigo e este será o primeiro fim-de-semana de um ano repleto de corridas na nova modalidade onde a meta é chegar o mais longe possível - "Tenho muita vontade de competir nesta categoria Ok Júnior pois é bastante mais rápida que a X30 Júnior. Sei que fisicamente é muito mais desgastante e que vou enfrentar adversários muito fortes e mais velhos, todos eles com muita vontade de pontuar e ganhar, mas como sempre vou procurar o meu trabalho e esperar que os resultados surjam!" - disse o piloto Português, que completou apenas 11 anos em Dezembro passado.
A proxima paragem será a primeira prova do campeonato ADAC Kart Masters Championship - OKJ nos dias 23 e 24 de Abril em Wackersdorf, Alemanha.
