Rodrigo Seabra debuts with a top 10 at the first international race of the season


Rodrigo Seabra finished his first international race, the Iame Winter Cup 2021, promoted by RGMMC group, in the top 10 drivers of the X30 Mini category, with a total of 32 drivers. Rodrigo was driving a Redspeed chassis for his british team, Oliver Rowland Motorsport. After the qualifying practice on Friday, Seabra get an excellent 4 place overall and a 2 place in his group. On Saturday, the 3 qualifying heats took place. Rodrigo always started from the front row, where a difficult start was already foreseen since he was starting on P2 for the out side of the grid and he had to try to reach the first places right on the first lap, with the most difficult trajectory. In the first heat on Saturday, Rodrigo reached a P6, although the second and third heat of the day, he had only reached a P14 and dropped to P15 on the third session due to an accident in the first lap and a 5 sec penalty for the front fairing position. At the end of the day, Rodrigo reached the 24 place on the starting grid for the pre-final. Sunday, the day of the pre-final and the final race, the weather conditions were not the best and the Karting set-up had to be adapted to the new requirements. Rodrigo started from the pre-final in 24th place on the grid and a good start made him able to finish in the P12 position, overtaking many of his opponents on the track.In the final race, Rodrigo came out of 12th position, still managing to move forward, although the rain and the atmospheric conditions of the track made him finish in 9th position overall, a very positive result of TOP10 in a total of 32 international drivers - “I am very happy with the work I did with my team, Oliver Rowland Motorsport. Thanks also to Remax Maia and Hertz Equipment Rental for helping me achieve my dreams ” This was a fundamental race to work and train with his new team for the European championship, where the first event will take place on the 25th to 28th of March, in Mariembourg, Belgium.
