The Portuguese KIA Karting Championship this weekend completed another day, at the Internacional Portimão go kart in Algarve. Rodrigo Seabra completed the peloton at the Youth level and, for the first time in this category at Iame, he immediately stood out in the free practice sessions on Friday for his good progress. Rodrigo was the third fastest in the timed training session in the 1531 meters of the Algarve circuit. In the first qualifying round, played in 8 laps, Rodrigo finished first. In the second qualifying heat, also played in 8 laps, Rodrigo Seabra started from pole-position and led until the sixth lap, but ended up holding second place, with his opponents immediately following, in an intense fight for the first places. Thus, ending the day on Saturday, Rodrigo Seabra secured pole position in the Sunday Pre-Final, starting from 1st place on the starting grid. In the Pre-Final, the Maia driver led the first two laps, but finished in second place guaranteed the fastest lap of the race. In the Final race, he returned to watch one of the best races of the weekend. Rodrigo Seabra even tried to lead the race in 11 laps, but he also had to defend his position from his opponents until the end of the race. Although with some mechanical problems, he was the author of the fastest lap of the race in 1´06.700s and secured an exciting second place on the podium. The driver adds another race in his history, this time in an excellent absolute debut in the Youth category - “I am super happy for the weekend. I worked and the results appeared. Thanks to Cabo do Mundo Kart Team and my Mechanic José Vieira, Filipe and Bruno Borlido for helping me to be a better driver ”. Rodrigo's next race will be the fourth double round of the Rotax Max Challange Portugal championship with a stage at the international Kartodromo de Baltar, on the 3rd and 4th of October, where the driver and his team will work to achieve the leadership of the championship.
