Under a summer-flavored sun, the weekend of the third race of the national karting championship took place at the renewed track at Kartodromo dos Milagres, in Leiria. The driver started Saturday's day early and remained among the fastest in the free practice sessions in the morning.
Rodrigo Seabra, with Kosmic chassis, managed to leave the 2nd starting line by establishing the 4th best time of the timed training with 53,451s, just 3 hundredths of pole, marked with the best time of 53,420s, in a very disputed qualification.
In the first opening lap, with 10 laps and a 1006 meter course with a total of 17 riders, Rodrigo did not complete the first MQ1 lap due to an accident that left him off the track. With the kart impaired, his Dino Motorsport team met all the conditions so that on Sunday morning, the driver could have all the material and mechanics in perfect condition.
Young Gun had to try to turn the result of the previous day, since he would start from the last position in the second qualifying heat. Thus Seabra managed to overtake most of his opponents by finishing in P5 and moving up 12 positions.
In the final race, Piloto da Maia started from the fifth starting line in tenth place. After 12 laps and a great driving show, he managed to finish in P4 overall, finishing close to the first three.
The result mirrors yet again the evolution of his work as a driver and his mechanic, João Nobrega of Dino Motorsport, “In the first heat I finished last due to a touch and I didn't finish the race. At the beginning of the second race I was very sad and nervous because I had to race backwards with a grid of 17 riders. It went very well because the strategy was to stay as far ahead as possible and try as hard as possible to get around the result! I finished in P5 in MQ2 and started from P10 in the final. I finished the race in P4 after many fights and I am happy with my result! "
The next race of the Remax Maia rider will be international and is scheduled for the next 25th and 26th of May, at the Italian track in Castelletto, 2nd race of the European championship of the Iame Euro Series, already having a grid of 45 riders registered in the category of the X30 mini.
